The activities of two call centers were stopped by employees of the Cybercrime Countermeasures Department in the Odessa region of the Cyber Police Department of the NPU, together with employees of the Criminal Investigation Department and the Investigation Department of the GDNP in the Odessa region.
Posing as employees of various financial institutions, they elicited conference information from people regarding their bank cards and accounts, and as soon as they received the necessary information from gullible citizens, money was debited from their accounts.
As part of the initiated proceedings under part 3 of article 190 (fraud committed by illegal operations using electronic computers) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, law enforcement officers conducted authorized searches in the premises of two call centers, from which they seized more than 50 pieces of computer equipment, mobile phones, SIP equipment telephony and other things of interest to the investigation.
Investigations are ongoing. A number of examinations have been appointed. Law enforcement officers are now collecting evidence to bring the perpetrators to justice.
