VPNs are mostly used for phones whilst SOCKS on PC VPN connect to country IP whilst socks connect to state ip SOCKS are faster than VPN and more secure If you doing a job which requires just changing/hiding your IPYOU CAN USE A VPN. HOWEVER IF YOU DOING A JOB WHERE YOU NEED TO BE IN THE SAME STATE AS THE CLIENT, THEN SOCKS IS THE BEST
Jobs like mobile deposit, ACH transfer, direct deposit, bill pay canbe done on VPN but jobs like online shop carding, wire trasnfer, money remittance(WU,remit) will require SOCKS
Logging into emails too will require socks of the same state or you might face extra verification on the email. You can use a SOCKS or VPN alone, or add any of them to RDP to make your IP undetectable.
