A resident of American Bridgeport (Connecticut) pleaded guilty to bank fraud in the state of Rhode Island. The Patch portal learned that 26-year-old Michael Joshua Saint-Victor created an online account at a local bank in the name of a Rhode Island resident, and then transferred money to it from the same person's real account.

The total amount of damage caused by St. Victor was 65.5 thousand dollars. At the same time, it is reported that as soon as the bank detected activity that seemed abnormal to it, all funds were returned in full to their owner. Thanks to this, the financial institution also managed to prevent the issuance of a credit card in the name of the same resident of the state, which the suspect sought.

Curiously, for unknown reasons, the US Secret Service was investigating the case. St. Victor will be sentenced on November 1, 2023.
