Cyber police of the Odessa region, together with investigators of the investigation department of the GUNP in the Odessa region, under the procedural guidance of the Odessa Regional Prosecutor's Office, exposed two people who embezzled funds of citizens under the pretext of selling quadrocopters and driving cars from abroad for the needs of defenders of Ukraine.

Relevant ads were placed on a popular online trading platform in Ukraine.

One of the suspects was looking for drop bank cards and selling them to his accomplice for the equivalent of $ 200 in cryptocurrency. The latter provided the victims with the details of the purchased cards for making subscriptions for non-existent goods or transportation of cars.

For the purpose of conspiracy, illegally obtained money was withdrawn to cryptocurrency wallets controlled by the defendants, and only after that - to their bank accounts.

The police conducted seven searches at the places of residence and registration of the defendants. Computer equipment, smartphones, bank and SIM cards, as well as almost 40 thousand hryvnias were seized. A request to seize the seized funds was sent to the court.

Two participants of the criminal scheme were detained under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine. Investigators informed the defendants of suspicion under Part 3 of Article 190 (Fraud), and one of them-under Part 2 of Article 209 (Legalization (laundering) of property obtained by criminal means). The Criminal Code of Ukraine. The latter was given a preventive measure in the form of detention with the right to pay bail in the amount of UAH 19 million. The request to place his accomplice in custody was sent to the court for consideration.
