Khabarovsk investigators decided to open a criminal case based on the application of a client of the Beribit cryptocurrency exchange. The Telegram channel "Mendeleevshchina"drew attention to this.
According to the document, the victim reported embezzlement of funds totaling 1.1 million rubles (10,910 USDT). A case on the grounds of fraud on a particularly large scale was opened against an "unidentified person".
In the application for verification, the client indicated that the funds were stolen "by the Beribit exchange from [his] personal trading account."
The administration of the trading platform, meanwhile, announced the resumption of full-fledged operation from May 6 and continues to report on ongoing payments.
Beribit also stated that it plans to reimburse part of the funds in the form of CFA under an agreement with users and convert the balance balances into them.
The technical team is working on implementing the appropriate functionality on the platform.
Recall that on March 29, the Moscow offices of Beribit were searched.
On April 25, the exchange reported "technical problems with the withdrawal of cryptocurrency", which it later explained by a change in management and "inconsistencies in reporting" found during the transfer of management documentation.
