An independent fork of Firefox with a focus on privacy.

LibreWolf is an independent fork of Firefox, whose main goals are to protect the privacy, security and freedom of users. LibreWolf is the community-managed successor to LibreFox.

The browser is designed for enhanced protection against tracking and digital fingerprints, and also contains many security improvements. To achieve these goals, LibreWolf uses settings and patches focused on privacy and security. The browser also aims to eliminate all forms of telemetry, data collection, and annoying features, as well as disable anti-free features such as DRM.

LibreWolf Features:
  • Latest Firefox: LibreWolf is compiled based on the most recent stable build of Firefox, which ensures that all the latest features and security updates are available.
  • Independent Build: LibreWolf uses a Firefox-independent build with its own settings, profile, and installation path. This allows you to install it alongside Firefox or any other browser.
  • No background connections: Removed built-in links to servers and other "go home" functions. As a result, the default background connection is minimized.
  • Updates to user settings.
  • Firewall for extensions: Restrict extensions ' access to the Internet.
  • Multi-platform: Supports Windows, Linux, Mac, and soon Android.
  • Community management.

  • Display the user's language as en-US on all sites to protect the language used in the browser and OS.
  • Disable WebGL, as it is a powerful vector for creating digital fingerprints.
  • Prevent access to OS location services by using the Mozilla location API instead of Google.
  • Limit ICE candidate generation to a single interface for video conferencing.
  • Force the use of DNS and WebRTC through a proxy when using it.
  • Pruning cross-domain referrers so that they don't include the full URI.
  • Disabling preloading of links and speculative connections.
