Anyone can become a victim of fraud. Most schemes allow you to protect yourself from intruders, showing vigilance and the ability to think soberly in a stressful situation, but, unfortunately, the attacks of criminals are too strong for untrained people. There are also fraud methods that the victim cannot protect himself from. These are, for example, the use of a power of attorney, auto-placement, and some other types of crimes.

Primarily

If the fraud is related to a bank card, first of all you need to:
  • try to cancel the transaction in your merchant profile or in the app;
  • regardless of the result, call the bank by dialing the number manually;
  • ask to connect you to the security service;
  • follow the instructions of your employees.
You will be asked to reissue the card, the details of which became known to fraudsters, possibly-change the password of your personal account, as well as write applications to various authorities. Other recommendations are also possible – it depends on the specific case and method of fraud.
Contacting the bank is very important! It will prevent the remaining money from being stolen from your bank card.

If the bank refuses to provide assistance, you need to complain to a higher organization – the Central Bank of the Russian Federation.

The bank recovers the client's losses only if its employees are to blame. If a person has named secret payment data (PIN, CVV/CVC code, SMS code), this is not the bank's fault and according to Russian law, the bank does not owe the client anything. However, information from the security service can help the police in their investigation.
