The defendant in a number of criminal cases was a 20-year-old resident of the Glazunovsky district. The young man is suspected of illegal access to legally protected computer information and fraud.
The internal affairs bodies received seven applications from citizens, in which they reported that small amounts of loans were taken out in their name without their knowledge from various microfinance organizations. Applications for these actions were made from the applicants accounts on the Gosuslugi portal.
Investigative departments of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Orel and OP No. 3 (for the Northern district) as well as the investigation units of the City Ministry of Internal Affairs initiated criminal cases on the grounds of crimes under part 2 of Article 272 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Illegal access to computer information" and Article 159.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation "Fraud in the field of lending".
As a result of operational search and technical measures, employees of the Department for Combating Cybercrime (OBK) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Orel region established that the victims accounts were logged in from the IP address of a resident of the Glazunovsky district, a citizen born in 2003.
It was previously established that the attacker illegally obtained information, and then acquired several previously blocked SIM cards of citizens, to the numbers of which their accounts in the information system were previously "tied". The suspect used personal data of former owners of SIM cards for registration of seven microcredits. The malefactor first transferred the received funds to his own and friends ' accounts, and then disposed of them at his own discretion.
The suspect's involvement in other similar episodes of illegal activity is established.
