The new module is the perfect combination for lovers of cybersecurity and video games.

The Flipper Zero tool, often compared to a Swiss army knife for geeks, pentesters, and cybersecurity professionals, has acquired a new accessory thanks to a collaboration with Raspberry Pi. We are talking about a module for video games worth $49, which radically changes the idea of the device's capabilities.

The Video Game Module is based on the RP2040 microcontroller from Raspberry Pi Pico, which makes it not just an add-on, but a powerful tool for developers and fans of video games. The module allows you to output video to displays with a DVI interface, but its capabilities do not end there. Thanks to the TDK ICM-42688-P high-precision six-axis motion tracking device (three-axis gyroscope and three-axis accelerometer), the module can be used as an input device for games or gesture control for general application use.

To connect the module to Flipper Zero, just install it in the device's 18-GPIO connectors. In order for Flipper Zero to recognize the module, you must install the latest firmware version via qFlipper. By default, the module duplicates the image from the Flipper Zero LCD screen to the DVI output. Games and apps can be launched directly from Flipper Zero, and if the device itself is not available, the module can be used offline.

Using USB-C, the module connects to a computer and functions as a Raspberry Pi Pico, allowing you to develop projects in MicroPython or C++ with your own GPIO pins for projects.

Raspberry Pi CEO and co-founder Eben Upton expressed his support and admiration for the Flipper team. Since the first product debuted on Kickstarter in the summer of 2020, the Raspberry Pi team has watched with interest the success of Flipper Zero, which has found its fans among geeks and researchers around the world. Now, with the release of the video game module, the collaboration between the two companies opens up new horizons for the Flipper ecosystem, bringing the power of the Raspberry Pi RP2040 microcontroller to it. Eben Upton emphasized his interest in further development and the emergence of new Flipper applications that will arise as a result of such cooperation.
