Cyber police officers, together with detectives from the Main Division of Detectives of the BEB, under the procedural guidance of the Prosecutor General's Office, stopped the activities of an illegal online casino. Five members of the group were notified of suspicion.
Law enforcement officers identified the 35-year-old organizer of the "business". The man thought out a criminal scheme and attracted a 29-year-old acquaintance with programming skills to illegal activities. The latter created a website for online gambling. The men advertised online casino services on social networks.
The participants organized a round-the-clock call center for communicating with players in instant messengers, accepting payments from players, forming an individual link to the game and paying out winnings. Three other people I knew were hired to work as cameramen.
For conspiracy, the group members used card accounts of third parties, the so-called drops.
Law enforcement officers stopped the operation of the online casino and conducted searches in the premises of the defendants and the territory of Kiev and Poltava. Computer equipment, more than 20 mobile phones, 50 bank and 100 SIM cards, and notes were seized.
Detectives of the BEB announced suspicion to five members of an organized group under Part 2, 3, 5 of Article 27, Part 3 of Article 28, Part 2 of Article 203-2 (Illegal activity in organizing or conducting gambling, lotteries) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Now petitions have been sent to the court to select a preventive measure in the form of bail for the defendants.
