The investigator of the SU of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) completed the investigation of the criminal case against five of the thirteen members of an organized group that stole citizens ' money fraudulently.

According to the police, the accused, residents of Nakhodka, Primorsky Krai, posted ads on the Internet about the provision of services for the purchase and delivery of cars from Japan. With the potential buyers who contacted them, the accomplices electronically signed agency agreements, after which the clients transferred money to their account. However, then the accomplices did not fulfill their obligations, and the finances received from citizens were spent at their own discretion.

At the same time, to give their craft the appearance of being legal, the attackers opened a commercial company, which they renamed twice during the implementation of their criminal plans.

The illegal activity of the organized group was stopped by operatives of the Criminal Investigation Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). During official business trips to the cities of Sochi, St. Petersburg and Nakhodka, police officers detained and brought five suspects to Yakutsk, where they were taken into custody. Eight more accomplices, including the organizer, disappeared outside the country and are put on the international wanted list.

In total, from the actions of 13 scammers in the period from October 2021 to May 2022, 20 residents of different regions of the country suffered, which caused a total damage of more than 15 million rubles. In a criminal case against 5 detained accomplices, 10 victims are being held, the damage to which exceeded 6 million rubles.

During the investigation, mobile phones, electronic data carriers, as well as documentation relevant to the criminal case were seized at the places of residence of the accomplices. In order to ensure compensation for damage, the property of the defendants worth about 16 million rubles was seized.

At present, the indictment in the criminal case has been approved by the Prosecutor's Office of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) and sent to the Yakutsk City Court for consideration on the merits.
