On May 14, the attacker began to "siphon" funds from traders of the decentralized exchange (DEX) Equalizer. The criminal stole 2353 EQUAL (~$20,000) and several other tokens.
The project team recommended that you do not interact with the site's front-end until the investigation is completed.
The incident began early this morning with the leak of 2,500 SpookySwap liquidity tokens (spLP). The victim also lost his other funds.
The hacker's address appeared on the network 222 days ago. Among the stolen coins:
2353 Equalizer (EQUAL);
510 579 FantomStarter (FS);
2 500 spLP;
6 млн AnyInu (AI);
985 565 ChillPill (CHILL);
50 000 WigoSwap (WIGO);
25 multiDEUS (DEUS).
The total amount of damage is relatively small and is estimated at several tens of thousands of dollars. However, DEX users ' funds continue to flow to the hacker.
In parallel, the attacker created a fake Equalizer account in X, where it was offered to receive compensation.
In the Discord channel, the project team gave some tips to users to stop further loss of funds:
"If you are asked to approve something when connecting to a decentralized application, please stop using this site immediately. [ ... ] If you are asked to approve any contract that is unknown or missing from our documents, stop using this site."
A member of the community under the nickname 543 noted that users are safe if they "did not interact with Equalizer websites" a few hours before the incident. Otherwise, it recommended revoking all recent permissions.
The exchange's team is currently "working to restore the main website." Before solving the problem, Equalizer advised you to use alternative mirrors.
