74 million was sent by a notary from Moscow to scammers: she withdrew all her savings, collected loans and borrowed from friends. In the end, the woman was convinced to go to Obninsk under the witness protection program.

A resident of Moscow is 70 years old and works as a notary. Recently, the president of the notary chamber allegedly contacted her and warned that law enforcement officers would soon call her. After this, the woman began to receive calls from either the Central Bank employees or the FSB - the victim was convinced that her accounts had been attacked by scammers and needed to be reactivated. For activation to be successful, she needed to confirm her solvency by sending millions of rubles to different accounts.

First, the woman transferred all her savings, then took out several loans from banks and friends. In the end, when the scammers received more than 50 million rubles, the victim was persuaded to go to Obninsk and hide under the witness protection program. The entire operation was carried out in the strictest secrecy: the victim was asked not to tell anyone anything and, if possible, not to appear at home.

It was only in Obninsk that the victim realized that she had been deceived. In just a month, she was defrauded of 74 million rubles. The criminal case of fraud on an especially large scale is under the control of the Gagarin Interdistrict Prosecutor's Office.
