The evidence collected by the investigative department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation "Baryshsky" was sufficient to convict a 22-year-old resident of the Samara region, who was found guilty of attempted fraud and fraud committed by an organized group on a large scale (Part 3 of Article 30, hh. 3 and 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
It is established that the young man in one of the messengers found information about the possibility of additional earnings. Their duties included driving up to the addresses indicated in the messages, taking money from citizens, and then transferring it to various accounts and payment systems, leaving themselves 5% of each amount.
Realizing that his actions would be illegal, the culprit agreed to the proposal. So, on October 2-3 last year, the courier visited seven citizens living in the territory of Baryshsky, Kuzovatovsky and Novospassky districts of the Ulyanovsk region, of which five residents handed over money to him. Trusting elderly people were sure that the money would help their loved ones avoid criminal liability for committing road accidents, which they were previously informed about by scammers disguised as police officers or relatives. The total amount of damage caused was 1.5 million rubles.
Two more residents of the region, to whom the courier arrived, doubted the authenticity of what was happening, and changed their minds to part with cash.
