In everyday life, she was a quiet mother, but in reality, the essence of a hacker was hidden behind the seeming normality.

A 40-year-old Russian woman was arrested on October 11 in Italy for belonging to an international group accused of cloning bank cards and transferring stolen funds into cryptocurrency. This is reported by Le Figaro with reference to the Italian authorities.

The Russian woman was arrested in Genoa. The woman is suspected of belonging to a transnational organization that deals with cyber fraud. The police believe that the company, in which the Russian woman is involved, buys expensive goods on various portals using other people's credit cards and bank accounts.

According to investigators, the Russian woman received goods ordered by fraudsters using fake documents. Thus, she had new smartphones and other electronic goods, which were then sold over the Internet. The funds received were used to purchase cryptocurrency.

"In everyday life, she was a quiet mother, but in reality, the essence of a hacker was hidden behind the seeming normality," the newspaper Le Figaro quotes an excerpt from a police statement.

The Consulate General of the Russian Federation in Genoa confirmed the fact of the detention of a citizen of the Russian Federation. They noted that at the moment the woman signed a written refusal to communicate with any official representatives.
