Widely known American rap musician G Herbo (1.54 million YouTube subscribers) pleaded guilty to wire fraud and making false statements to federal agents. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, the hip-hop artist, whose real name is Herbert Wright III, made a deal with the investigation.

According to investigators, Wright paid with stolen credit cards for private jet flights, expensive meals, luxury cars and even renting a villa in Jamaica. According to the deal concluded with the prosecution, Wright could face up to 20 years in prison, but in fact the sentence could be much less severe. It will be announced at the end of July 2023.

An indictment filed in late 2020 accused Wright and five others of obtaining stolen credit card information from the dark web. They also used fake identities, driver's licenses and email accounts under false names, however, on the domains of real companies. In particular, in one of the cases, a man who introduced himself as the manager of G Herbo paid for the purchase of two puppies from a breeder with a stolen credit card, as well as their transfer to Chicago from another city. At the disposal of the investigators there are correspondence in which the musician directly demands from his assistant to pay for the rent of the villa and Maybach S600 and Bentley CGTC cars from the stolen funds.

It is worth noting that it was not until 2021 that Wright finished serving a suspended two-year sentence for weapons possession. At the same time, after the removal of supervision, his life did not become less measured: in June he was detained for possession of 300 grams of marijuana, and already in July - again for weapons.
