The Agency is expanding its tools for managing network resources in Russia.

On April 10, 2024, Roskomnadzor launched two new services for the Russian Internet segment. The first service is similar to Whois and allows you to get information about domains, their IP addresses, mail and web servers.

The second service is the Register of Address-numbered Resources (RASR) of the Russian Internet segment. It provides whois information about IP addresses and autonomous systems. RANR uses its own databases, as well as data from RIPE (the organization responsible for distributing IP addresses in Europe).

The subsystem "Register of address and number resources of the Internet" of the information system for monitoring and managing the public communication network (IS "CMU SSOP") is designed for use in public authorities. The RASR subsystem is designed to maintain a register of address-numbered resources of the Russian segment of the Internet and automates the maintenance, filling, distribution and provision of RASR database data to interested parties.

A year earlier, in April 2023, Roskomnadzor also launched "Crash Monitoring" - the Russian equivalent of the Downdetector service. It tracks the operation of more than 150 services and allows users to leave messages about the inactivity of Internet services, banking applications and telecom operators, monitor the stability of their functioning and study the geography of fixed problems.

The portal also launched a special service for specialized specialists - Looking Glass, which makes it possible to get information about IP addresses, autonomous systems, and optimal traffic routes.

"The key feature of the service is the use of route information directly from all Russian telecom operators through the Center's information monitoring system. This allows you to get reliable data about the route to the network of interest from the point of view of any Russian operator," the HRCC said, noting that the data is provided in real time.
