According to preliminary estimates, the total amount of damage caused to the victims may amount to more than 2 million hryvnias.

As the police established, four residents of the Dnipropetrovsk and Kirovohrad regions were involved in illegal activities. In social networks, they searched for ads about raising money to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine and treat wounded soldiers. Then they called the phone numbers received during communication in the messenger. Using fake accounts in social networks, the defendants presented themselves as employees of a payment organization and offered to receive a money transfer from Poland. Under the guise of converting zlotys into hryvnias, the perpetrators proposed a certain algorithm of actions, received personal and bank data of citizens, and then appropriated money from the victims accounts.

The criminal activities of the defendants were exposed by employees of the Kamensk Regional Police Department together with the Department of Criminal Investigation, Criminal Analysis and the Department of Countering Cybercrime in the Dnipropetrovsk region under the procedural guidance of the Kamensk District Prosecutor's Office.

At the places of residence and in the cars of the attackers, law enforcement officers conducted searches. Computer equipment, mobile phones, bank cards, "rough" records, as well as four cars were seized.

The defendants were informed of suspicion under Part 3 of Article 190 (fraud), Part 4 of Article 185 (theft), Part 1, 2 of Article 361 (unauthorized interference in the operation of information (automated), electronic communication, information and communication systems, electronic communication networks) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

Now the issue of choosing a preventive measure in the form of detention is being resolved.
