Combat operations make significant adjustments to the interaction with Internet services.

Google temporarily disabled the ability to view real-time traffic conditions in Israel and the disputed Gaza Strip for its Maps and Waze apps. This was done at the request of the Israeli army in light of the recent open confrontation with Palestine.

A Google spokesperson said: "As in previous conflict situations and in response to the evolving situation in the region, we have temporarily disabled the ability to see traffic conditions and real-time traffic information for the safety of local communities."

According to a source familiar with the situation, this decision was made due to the fact that real-time traffic data could reveal the movements of Israeli troops. Last year, Google already took similar measures in relation to another well-known conflict.

Although the real-time traffic display is disabled, drivers using navigation systems will still receive an estimated arrival time based on current conditions. However, a visual display of traffic with colored sections of the route will not be available.

Israeli technology website GeekTime was the first to report on this development, saying that Apple's Maps app also met the request of the Israeli army. Representatives of Apple and the Israeli Defense Forces have not yet commented on the situation.
