Be sober and dangerously alert!

The easiest thing to hide is what's in plain sight.

According to the newspaper Moskovsky Komsomolets:
Fake ATMs belonging to a nonexistent bank have been found at Moscow's Vnukovo and Sheremetyevo airports and two major shopping centers.

Fraudulent ATMs looked quite plausible and gave the impression of working. However, after entering the PIN code and requesting money withdrawal, a denial-of-service message appeared on the screen. Since the information was not sent anywhere, neither the issuer nor the payment system has any information about this "operation". The device was used by fraudsters to gain access to card accounts and debit money from them.

According to the newspaper Trud;
In this way, the attackers who installed ATMs gained access to card accounts in order to write off money from them.

The ATMs allegedly belonged to a certain "Vneshinvestbank". On the website of this bank, fake banking details belonging to a credit institution that was liquidated back in 1999 were indicated.
